Rangnick wants Livramento’s autograph next summer.

Livramento, who signed from Chelsea for just £5m last summer, has been in brilliant form this year. Rangnick is said to have told the United board that Livramento should be their number one target this summer.

Chelsea are also very interested and the Blues could offer a buy-back option for £38m, but this deal needs to be considered because they already have Reece James in the squad. Livramento is also said to be unwilling to return to where he left off.

Livramento is an irreplaceable element of coach Ralph Hasenhuttl this season. Former Southampton player Theo Walcott also gave him winged compliments.

Walcott said: You know, he reminds me a bit of Gareth (Bale) when he plays at full-back.”

“Of course, that’s a pretty eloquent statement when comparing him to someone like that. But I just felt his presence and the way he hit the ball with speed and power. Nothing. surprised you know what he’s up to.”
