Behind the scenes Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale sign for Arsenal
5. James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)
Known as “the set-piece specialist”, James Ward-Prowse’s talent is much more than that. He is the conductor of Southampton, keeping the midfield running smoothly with his vision, control and passing skills. After 28 appearances in the Premier League this season, the 27-year-old star has scored 7 goals, providing 4 assists.
4. Joel Matip (Liverpool)
Before the 2021/22 campaign kicked off, The Kop recruited Ibrahima Konate to improve the depth of the defence. It was thought that the French star would be sure to take the main kick next to Virgil van Dijk, but he, along with Joe Gomez, had to fall behind Matip.
Not only possessing outstanding physique and strength, the Cameroonian midfielder is also excellent at reading the game and dribbling the ball. Matip’s breakthroughs many times opened up opportunities to threaten the opponent’s goal for Liverpool. After 24 appearances in the Premier League this season, Matip has helped The Kop keep 14 clean sheets.
3. Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United)
Last season Bowen had eight goals and five assists in 38 Premier League appearances. This season, the 25-year-old star has 9 goals and 10 passes after 29 matches. No English player has put his stamp on more goals than Bowen.
Bowen is likened to “the new Mohamed Salah”, because of his speed, technique and sharp finishing ability. Currently, he is also a target in Liverpool’s sights.
2. Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal)
The Gunners spent 28 million euros, recruiting Ramsdale from Sheffield United, which was relegated, surprising many people. However, the British goalkeeper made everyone change their view of themselves. The 23-year-old star has a save rate of 77%, the third highest of all goalkeepers in the Premier League this season. Ramsdale quickly took the starting spot from Bernd Leno, keeping 12 clean sheets in 25 appearances.
1. Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace)
As a loan contract from Chelsea, Conor Gallagher suddenly had a brilliant performance under the guidance of legendary Patrick Vieira. The 22-year-old midfielder has 8 goals and 3 assists in 26 Premier League appearances. Besides contributing in the attacking front, the English star also actively participated in pressing, recovering and regaining the ball from the opponent. The brilliant form helped Conor Gallagher be given the opportunity by coach Gareth Southgate in the England team.
